Thanks to 14 year old Emma for submitting this poem about missing friends during lockdown.

I can’t wait to see people without having to stand two metres apart

I’m missing all my friends and family with all my heart

I’m so bored at home, I wish I could go back to school

Trying to keep my cool but I want to kick out like a stubborn mule

I’d rather be in a different place

Even as far as outer space

I’m sick and tired of looking at people through a screen

I understand why, but it feels so mean

I wish I could see them face to face

I love them so much, to see them would be ace.

I will shower each of them with a hug and a kiss

And when I finally see them again, they will know they’ve been missed!
