Television licence

50% fee reduction – this is only available for people who are severely sight impaired/blind. You need to put the licence in the name of the blind person (a process does exist if the blind person is a child).
Blue Badge (for disabled car parking)
You automatically qualify if you are severely sight impaired/blind. You do not qualify if you are partially sighted, unless you also meet other criteria, for example, you get the higher rate of the mobility component of DLA.

This is a scheme run by Royal Mail, providing free postage for blind or partially sighted people for the following items: books, printed materials, letters, relief maps, audio and electronic media, equipment such as magnifiers and mobility aids.

Free carer ticket
Most attractions will offer a free carer ticket when accompanying a full cost disabled child or adult ticket.
CEA Card
This enables a disabled cinema guest to receive a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them when they visit a participating cinema.
Council Discount Card
Some councils offer cards for disabled children and young people, that can be used at leisure venues to get discounts or special offers. One example of this is the Compass Card for Brighton & Hove and West Sussex www.compasscard.org.uk. Ask your local council if they run a similar scheme.
